Thanks for your review of the blog. I really appreciate your comments. You are correct in that much of the material I cover is stuff that I was interested in as a kid, which was before the explosive growth in the sports collectibles market starting in the late 1980's.

Researching the history and trying to tell a story is what makes going back and taking a look at some these items enjoyable, and I'm glad you enjoy reading along!

I agree with you to a point, in particular the co-option of the G.O.P. from its more sensible minders, though I'm not so sure that liberals or even centrist Democrats look back longingly for more conservative governments during the last three decades. (Unless, perhaps, you mean, fiscally?)

I actually, in the case of liberals -- myself being a self-identified one, but speaking from a personal stand point -- wish more had been done to address things we can already see are nearly intractable issues concerning the balancing of environmental versus business concerns and so on, that conservatives always seem to be already in the tank for; for the corporations.

Conservative and liberal have lost all meaning. "Conservative" has been co-opted by an identity cult. They rationalize and defend all things GOP and vilify Obama even though Obama has done little more than continue Bush's reign of error on a broad range of policies. Meanwhile even liberals look back on 30 years of past GOP administrations and wish, oh how they wish, government had been MORE conservative.
